Rybnik. The police broke the criminal group. 17 people with 80 allegations, including fraud using the “granddaughter” method

According to Silesia, police, Rybnik police under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Rybnik detained 17 people members of the group, which operated in the following voivodships: Śląskie, Lesser Poland and Łódź and in many other places in Poland.

They are detained at the age of 18-38. They heard a total of 80 allegations, including money laundering, action in an organized criminal group, beating, causing severe damage to health, fraud, robbery or threats – including the use of dangerous tools. Crimes were to be arrived in 2023-2024.

According to investigators, members of the group were to deal with, among others fraudsters “on the granddaughter” and “on a policeman”.

“To this end, they initiated telephone calls, during which the telephonist presented himself as a family member or a representative of state -owned services or bodies and informed the victim that one of his family members had caused an accident. The victims received information about the need to pay a specific amount. Fraudsters instructed their victims every time about how to transfer money or jewelry. In this way, the victims lost their lives.” Police.
