The reaction of PiS politicians shows that they did not fully believe Ryszard Czarnecki, that it was the kind of political theatre he talked about – said MP Magdalena Sroka (PSL-Trzecia Droga) in “Fakty po Faktach”, referring to the suspension of the former PiS MEP in the rights of a party member and his arrest in the Collegium Humanum case. KO MEP Krzysztof Brejza assessed that “there have been so many twisted cases over the years, swept away” by Zbigniew Ziobro's prosecutor's office, that “there will soon be no PiS politicians who would defend themselves in front of prisons”. He added that “everyone will be in prison in a moment”.
Former MEP PIS Ryszard Czarnecki was suspended from the party membership by decision of the president of Law and Justice, JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski.as reported on Thursday by the party's spokesman RafaÅ‚ Bochenek. Czarnecki was detained at Chopin Airport on Wednesday by CBA as part of the proceedings in the Collegium Humanum case. Earlier, in mid-August, the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość announced the charge against Czarnecki of committing a crime in the case of “mileage allowances”.
MP Magdalena Sroka (PSL-Trzecia Droga) asked whether the decision to suspend PiS from membership “is an announcement of such a political sentence on Ryszard Czarnecki, the end of his political career in this party”, assessed that “a few hours earlier Ryszard Czarnecki said that this was political theater”. – However, the reaction of the politicians from Law and Justice shows that they did not fully believe him that it was the kind of theater he talked about – she added.
– The charges brought against Ryszard Czarnecki and the evidence, I understand, that was used to arrest him, are so solid that even his party colleagues are turning away from him – she said.
Brejza: This is a para-mafia system
Krzysztof Brejza, MEP of the Civic Coalition, said that in 2020, “papers were received from OLAF, the European Anti-Fraud Office, regarding Czarnecki's mileage allowance”. – What happened to this case? It ended up in the garage of prosecutor Ziobro Ziarkiewicz and this prosecutor's office in this case acted as a protective shield. The louder Mr. Ryszard Czarnecki shouted “JarosÅ‚aw, JarosÅ‚aw”, the more time he had and the more energy he could use on other ways of earning money – maybe by the wife method – at Collegium Humanum – he added.
– This is one big rampart, this is a para-mafia system – he assessed. – This is just one of the examples showing how PiS built Poland on the model of Sicily – said Brejza.
– But there is also a positive side. The positive side is that since October 15, state structures have been rebuilt. An independent prosecutor's office is operating – he emphasized.
“There will soon be no PiS politicians left to defend themselves in front of these prisons”
The host of the program, Grzegorz Kajdanowicz, noticed that PiS politicians went to prisons and defended legally convicted PiS politicians. Mariusz KamiÅ„ski and Maciej WÄ…sikhowever, “there are no signs in heaven or on earth that they would want to die” according to Czarnecki.
– I'm afraid that soon there will be no PiS politicians who would be able to visit prisons and detention centers, because it turns out that they have to go to London – said Brejza.
He added that “more and more applications for lifting immunity are being submitted”. – There are so many cases and so many cases have been twisted over the years, swept away by the ziobrocracy, that there will soon be no PiS politicians who would defend themselves against these prisons. Everyone will be in prison in a moment, (…) because they built a closed system – he assessed.
– They stole from RARS, they stole from the State Forests, they stole from NCBR (…), they stole from the Justice Fund, they stole from Willa Plus, they stole from visas, they stole from RCL – he listed.
Sroka: I wish I could declassify the documents. They are shocking
Sroka, who is the chairwoman of the parliamentary inquiry committee on Pegasus, also referred in “Fakty po Faktach” to the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling that the scope of this commission's activities is inconsistent with the Constitution. A group of Law and Justice MPs submitted a motion regarding a parliamentary resolution on the establishment of the commission.
She said the ruling was issued by a panel that included JarosÅ‚aw Wyrembak, “i.e. an understudy judge.” “Such rulings are not binding,” she added. “We will of course continue to work with the schedule,” she announced.
As she noted, “we were dealing with a powerful weapon that was purchased illegally, which was approved for use without appropriate accreditations and checks, which hit people against whom there were no indictments and against whom a political fight was simply being waged.”
In response to the remark that “PiS MPs are withdrawing from the work of this committee”, she said that “first they tried to introduce chaos and confusion during the work of the committee, and then they got offended and stopped coming to the meetings”. – They only wanted destabilization – she assessed.
Sroka, asked about cooperation with the services, said that the committee had received “part of the documents”. – They are largely classified – she added. – There is cooperation with both the coordinator of the special services and the prosecutor's office and the services. Of course, I want more. I would like to be able to declassify the documents that I can already familiarize myself with today in the Secret Chancellery of the Sejm. However, there is no consent to declassify them yet – she said.
– These are shocking documents, which we, as members of the committee, can familiarize ourselves with today – she added.
Brejza: This is the face of fear. PiS is really afraid of this issue
Brejza said he could not recall any committee “in which any group would behave so hysterically”. – And this is the face of fear. PiS is really afraid of this issue – he assessed.
As he mentioned, the European Parliament committee “indicated that these cyber weapons were used to destroy the opposition, destroy political opponents, destroy those who detected theft or publicized the theft of PiS”.
He added that the commission should continue to operate.
