– The basic element of competitiveness is energy. And America will have and has cheap energy, it can have even cheaper energy – said Polish 2050 MP Ryszard Petru in “Piasecki's Talk” on Thursday. He referred in this way to Prime Minister Donald Tusk's speech on Wednesday in the European Parliament, where he spoke, among other things, about the need for competitive energy prices in Europe.

Prime minister Donald Tusk presented it to the European Parliament on Wednesday priorities of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. During his speech, he assessed that some European regulations have led to this energy price in some European countries it is “unacceptably high”. – How do you want to compete with the American or Chinese economy if we have energy that is three times more expensive? – he asked.

On Thursday, Ryszard Petru, MP from Poland 2050, commented on these words in “Piasecki's Rozmowa”. He said they didn't shock him. – The basic element of competitiveness is energy. And America will have cheap energy, it may have even cheaper energy, he said. He said that we cannot downplay the fact that the president Donald Trump he will bet on oil.

– It seems to me that Tusk showed himself as such a realist – he said. – I don't see it as a turnaround, just an entry into the European mainstream, which talks about the need to be competitive – he added.

According to Petru, “we have almost very low economic growth.” – Growth is much higher in the United States. Chinese cars are much cheaper than German ones. And German industry came to a standstill. We have to answer this. Why has it happened that Europe has no growth prospects? Of course, Poland doesn't look too bad in comparison, but we must have a perspective of 4 percent growth in the coming years, not just in one or two years, said the politician.
