Ryszard Terlecki on PiS MPs who did not vote on the Judiciary Act: we will remember when creating the lists

We will remember those PiS deputies who did not take part in the vote on the amendment to the law on the Supreme Court, on the occasion of the creation of electoral lists – said on Monday the deputy speaker of the Sejm, head of the PiS club, Ryszard Terlecki. When asked if there might be no place for Antoni Macierewicz, he replied: – “No, the deputy chairman of the party is one of the most important people in our environment.”

On January 13, the Sejm passed amendment to the Act on the Supreme Court and other courts, the draft of which was submitted by the PiS club to the Sejm. According to the authors, the amendment is to be a key “milestone” for the European Commission to unlock money from the National Recovery Plan. The bill will now be considered by the Senate.

None of the opposition’s 14 amendments to the amendment won support. The amendment was supported by almost all MPs from Law and Justice, against the PiS coalition partner – Solidarity Polandand Confederation and Poland 2050. Members of the Civic Coalition, the Left and the KP-PSL abstained from the vote in the vast majority.

In the PiS club against the amendment, there were 20 deputies associated with Solidarna Polska, as well as two deputies from outside SP (Teresa Hałas and Sławomir Zawiślak). Six did not vote PiS deputiespresent at the votes: Jan Duda, Andrzej Gawron, Grzegorz Gaża, Agnieszka Górska, Antoni Macierewicz and Bartholomew Wroblewski. Beata Mateusiak-Pielucha and Elżbieta Zielińska were absent.

Journalists asked the head of the PiS club on Monday whether there would be any consequences for those who did not vote. – We will remember when creating electoral lists – answered Terlecki.

When asked whether Antoni Macierewicz might not be on the PiS list, he replied: “No, the deputy chairman of the party is one of the most important people in our environment.”
