3.8 per mille of alcohol in the body had a driver stopped by policemen in Rzeszów’s New Town. The 35-year-old caught the attention of the uniformed because, despite the difficult weather conditions, he was driving the car without proper lighting, only with the hazard lights on.
The police detained a suspiciously behaving man on Thursday at around 3 p.m. on ul. Podwisłocze in Rzeszów. According to the officers from the Podkarpacie region, the reason for the inspection of the Citroen passenger driver was the lack of “required lighting in reduced visibility conditions” and the hazard lights turned on at the same time.
Drunk and without permission
After the man was arrested, the policemen noticed the smell of alcohol from the driver.
– Breathalyzer test showed 3.8 alcohol per mille in his body. The man was traveling with a passenger who was also under the influence of alcohol. After checking, it turned out that the man did not have a driving license and had never been authorized to drive the vehicle – said sub-inspector Marta Tabasz-Rygiel, press officer of the Subcarpathian police.
The car, driven by a drunk 35-year-old, was taken to the parking lot.
The man is facing serious consequences. There is a penalty of up to two years’ imprisonment for driving a car under the influence of alcohol. The detained will also be responsible for driving without authorization and will be banned from driving.
