A serious accident in the town of Bocian (Mazowieckie) on the S17 route. A tanker truck carrying fuel collided with a road service car standing on an emergency lane. Two people are injured. Both cars are in a ditch, one of the cistern’s chambers has been unsealed.
The accident took place in the village of Bocian. The services were alerted shortly after 6 p.m. – The first information shows that a tanker truck collided with a Volkswagen standing on the emergency lane – said Jarosław Florczak from the press department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters.
The car standing on the road belonged to the road service. – Two people were transported to the hospital. He is a truck driver and a Volkswagen passenger – noted Florczak.
The cistern fell into a ditch
After the collision, the truck and the service’s car fell out of the way. They are in a ditch. There are six fire brigades on the spot, and more are on the way. – The truck that was carrying the fuel capsized on its roof after an accident. One of the tanks has become unsealed – described Maciej Łodygowski from the fire brigade in Otwock.
And he announced that two specialized groups had been ordered to the site. The first task will be to “put the car on its wheels”. The second, chemical one, will take care of clearing the scene.
In turn, the press spokesman of the chief of the State Fire Service, Karol Kierzkowski, later announced that the vehicle was carrying 12,000 liters of oil. The entire load leaked. – There are 60 firefighters and 16 cars on site, including a chemical and technical group from Warsaw – Kierzkowski added.
Traffic jams towards Lublin
According to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, the road towards Lublin is completely blocked. Traffic jams are forming. Road workers estimate that the inconvenience may last until 10 pm.
