Children who could not or did not want to take care of biological parents need love. In practice, only foster families can give them this. Salary from you for professional foster families is not always enough for professional psychological support. Parents and non -governmental organizations deal with it themselves.

Mrs. Ania and her husband have been running a family orphanage for 13 years. Today they have nine children in their care. In total, 17 children of different ages looked after all these years, with various problems and experiences. Almost all children go to foster families with traumas, as psychologist Aleksandra Piotrowska explains.

– Unfortunately, we have to deal with it and help them somehow go straight so that they can achieve some internal balance themselves, and then cope in adult life – says Anna Mroczek, who runs a family orphanage.

Magdalena Różczka, actress and for years, a substitute parenting ambassador, today she is running a foundation that helps build loving replacement houses for children who need such houses. Regulating the child's legal situation can take years, as he explains.

“He understood why he should go”

This is best shown by the story of Mały Marcinek, a mentee of the Beloved Foundation, who was left by his mother after birth. He suffered from FAS, i.e. an alcoholic fetal syndrome.

– There was a diagnosis that he would never go, he never said. And after a week in a foster family he began to climb the furniture, wanting to get up because he saw the open arms of loving parents who said: come to me, come to my mother. He understood why he should go. And I just see today that he is starting to dance and sing – says Magdalena Różczka.

For many children, such a foster family is the only chance for a safe home, childhood and future.

Professional foster families receive remuneration from you. Depending on the city, these amounts are different. For example, Warsaw guarantees a minimum of PLN 2,800 per month in the case of taking care of two children – but this is not always enough, because for basic maintenance, for example, psychological care must be added.

The Happy Kids Foundation creates audiobooks with fairy tales for children who are read by famous actors. Income from the sale of audiobooks will entirely go to psychological help for children from foster families.
