Salmonella bacteria in Tartar beef label in Łuków

The General Sanitary Inspectorate informed that as a result of the inspection carried out, Salmonella bacteria were detected in 1 out of 5 samples of the product “Raw sausage Metka beef Tatarska 200 g”.

According to the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, traces of bacteria were found during the official activities of the State Sanitary Inspection. The Office warns that the consumption of a product that is contaminated with Salmonella bacilli is associated with the risk of food poisoning.

According to GIS, after receiving information about the situation, the manufacturer started the procedure of withdrawing the problematic batch from the market. It is supervised by official food inspection bodies.

GIS strongly warns against eating a product contaminated with Salmonella bacilli. In case of ingestion and symptoms of food poisoning, contact a doctor as soon as possible. Symptoms that appear after contact with an infectious agent are: abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, nausea, dehydration and vomiting. If a more severe infection develops (parenteral form), the following may occur: abscesses, inflammation of the bile ducts, pneumonia, meninges, joints, bone marrow, bone and sepsis.
