Sam Altman’s shock transfer to Microsoft after his shock firing at OpenAI isn’t a completed deal. He and co-founder Greg Brockman are nonetheless open to returning to OpenAI if the remaining board members who fired him step apart, a number of sources inform The Verge.
The promised mass exodus of nearly each OpenAI worker, together with board member and chief scientist Ilya Sutskever who led the transfer to depose Altman, means that there’s extra push to take away the board than ever, and solely two of three remaining board members must flip to make it occur. Altman simply posted on X that “we’re all going to work collectively a way or different,” which we’re advised is supposed to point that the battle continues.
