A session in sanatorium is an ideal opportunity to relax and improve your health. The trip is co-financed by the National Health Fund and some expenses must be covered by yourself. However, there are people who are entitled to free rest.
Sanatorium co-financed by the National Health Fund. What do you have to pay for?
Spa treatment can take two forms: a stay in a spa hospital and a stay in a spa sanatorium. A stay in a spa hospital is free, while a stay in a sanatorium requires partial payment. A person who uses NFZ spa treatment must pay for:
- travel to and from spa treatment,
- stay of the patient's caregiver,
- partly board and accommodation in sanatoriums,
- accommodation and meals during outpatient treatment,
- additional rehabilitation and natural therapy treatments unrelated to the purpose of the stay,
- additional costs, e.g. climate fees.
Free trip to a sanatorium. Who is eligible?
For spa treatment in a sanatorium, a referral is issued by a health insurance doctor. Doctor takes into account the patient's health condition, needs and the expected impact of spa treatment. Only with a referral can you benefit from a free stay in a sanatorium.
