Santander Bank Poland. John Power leaves Santander’s supervisory board, retires

John Power, a member of the Supervisory Board of Santander Bank Polska, resigned from his position on Tuesday. The reason is retirement, the company’s management said.

The Management Board of Santander Bank Polska SA announced that on Tuesday, June 6, John Power resigned from his membership in the bank’s supervisory board, with effect from August 1, 2023. “The reason for resignation is that Mr. John Power has made the decision to switch to retirement after more than 20 years of work at Bank Zachodni WBK, and then at Santander Bank Polska.

Bank Zachodni WBK officially changed its name to Santander Bank Polska in September 2018.

Who is John Power?

As we read on the bank’s website, John Power is a financial consultant. For over 30 years, he has held top-level positions in the financial services sector.

In the past, Power was member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, the Association of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Bankers. He also sat on the supervisory boards of Santander TFI SA, Dom Maklerski BZ WBK SA, Bulgarian American Credit Bank and Santander Securities SA

Santander Bank Polska assured that John Power “has the appropriate knowledge and experience in the industry in which the company operates”. “Has knowledge and skills in accounting or auditing financial statements” – we read on the bank’s website.
