Chancellor German Olaf Scholz and the president France Emmanuel Macron in a joint article for “Financial Times” listed their concerns about the reforms that European Union members “have to face.”

The leaders drew attention to the situation in European Unionwhich they think requires drastic reforms. In order to improve their competitiveness, they indicated actions that they described as “necessary”.

Scholz and Macron appeal to EU countries

Leaders paid attention to the need reform regarding the decarbonization of the economyleaving the exact measures up to the Member States.

In their statement they also call Europe and members of the European Union to complete single financial market by introducing a common framework for insolvency, tax and investment.

“We cannot take for granted the foundations on which we have built our way of life in Europe and our role in the world,” they emphasized in the article. “Our Europe is mortal and we have to face the challenge” – they added.
