American rapper and music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs published a recording in which he “apologizes” for beating his former partner “Cassie” Casandra Ventura. A drastic recording from 2016, showing a half-naked musician attacking a woman in a hotel, was made public by CNN. Until its publication, “Diddy” claimed that nothing like this ever happened. “The fact that he was forced to 'apologize' only after his repeated denials turned out to be false shows his pathetic desperation,” Ventura's lawyer said.

Rapper and record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs was captured on hotel surveillance cameras attacking his then-partner. A drastic recording of the incident from 2016 was published on Friday by the American television CNN.

The published recording shows the artist, dressed only in a towel, approaching his then partner and vocalist Casandra Ventura, who is waiting for the elevator in the hotel corridor. The man grabs her tightly around the neck, throws her to the ground, and then kicks her twice. He then grabs her things from the floor, grabs the woman by her clothes and drags her across the floor.

“Diddy” attacked his partner. He says he's sorry

Casandra Ventura, who goes by the stage name “Cassie,” sued the rapper in 2023, accusing him of repeatedly physically abusing her, “sexual slavery” and rape during a 10-year relationship in which she claimed he controlled her through intimidation, drugs and alcohol. The matter was settled between the former partners the day after the accusation was filed, but it is not known on what terms. Combs' representatives argued that the settlement “is in no way an admission of wrongdoing.”

After CNN published the recording, the rapper issued an apology. “I'm sincerely sorry,” he wrote under the three-minute video on social media. -My behavior in this video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted when I did it. I'm disgusted now, he said in the recording. He claims he sought therapy and went to rehab.

'Pathetic' statement

Ventura's attorney, Meredith Firetog, commented on X on Sunday that “Combs' latest statement is more about himself than about the many people he has hurt.”

“When Cassie and many other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for payback. That he was only forced to 'apologize' when his repeated denials turned out to be false shows his pathetic desperation and his insincere words did not they will pay attention to no one,” Firetog said.

According to CNN, since November last year, “Diddy” has received five other civil lawsuits alleging sexual harassment and other illegal activities. “Diddy” also denies these accusations.
