He was supposed to be transporting metals, but automotive junk was found in the semi-trailer. The driver who wanted to bring over two tons of waste to Poland was detained by officers of the National Revenue Administration (KAS) and the Provincial Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in Zielona Góra (WIOŚ).
During a joint inspection with the Voivodship Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in Zielona Góra, officers of the Customs and Tax Service from Lubuskie carried out an inspection in the vicinity of Świecko. They stopped a truck coming from there German.
– The driver had permission to transport metal, but during the inspection it turned out that the semi-trailer contained mixed waste from three cars – says Ewa Markowicz, spokeswoman for the Tax Administration Chamber in Zielona Góra, Ewa Markowicz.

The semi-trailer found, among others: cockpits, upholstery elements, electronic parts, used tires and glass from broken windows. – A total of over two tons of mixed waste from outside the so-called “green” or “amber” list, for which a special permit is required – explains Markowicz.
The case was dealt with by the Voivodeship Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in Zielona Góra and Gorzów Wielkopolski. Until the matter is clarified, the illegal transport has been stopped. The carrier may be fined up to PLN 12,000. The driver was fined PLN 200. – The Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection in Warsaw will decide on the further fate of the waste – concludes Markowicz.
