I hope that the agreement will be effective – said PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński when asked on Friday morning by journalists in the Sejm about the draft amendment to the law on the Supreme Court. Changes in the judiciary, which the European Commission will possibly accept, are a key step in unlocking funds from the National Recovery Plan for Poland.

On Friday morning, a rare situation took place in the Sejm, when journalists working in the parliament building have the opportunity to ask a question to the PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński.

Radomir Wit from TVN24 and Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz from “Gazeta Wyborcza” asked him about the changes in the judiciary and the bill currently being discussed in the Sejm, which may lead to an agreement with the European Commission on KPO.

“I hope it will be effective, thank you,” replied Kaczyński. For attempts to ask more questions by journalists, the president PIS he didn’t answer anymore.

The Sejm resumed its deliberations on Friday after 10 am. on the draft amendment to the law on the Supreme Court, which is to be a key step in unlocking funds from the KPO for Poland, as well as on the draft on the establishment of the so-called verification commission on Russian influence.
