The official results of the European Parliament elections are already known. The newly elected MEPs included 25 current members of the Sejm. The largest number of parliamentarians who will exchange Wiejska for Brussels come from the Civic Coalition. Who will take their places?

In Sunday's European Parliament elections The Civic Coalition won, gaining 37.06 percent. votes, which will translate into 21 seats. Law and Justice won 20 seats and 36.16 percent. support. Confederation won 6 seats (12.08%), Trzecia Droga won 3 seats with the support of 6.91%, as did the Left, whose support was 6.3%.

The newly elected MEPs included politicians who currently sit in the Sejm. The largest number of MPs got into the European Parliament from the Civic Coalition – 12. Pursuant to the Electoral Code, the seats of these MPs will be taken by people who received the highest number of votes on the same list in the last parliamentary elections. Below we present the candidates who may be in the Sejm instead of elected MEPs if they do not waive priority for the seat.

Maciej Wąsik was also elected from the PiS list to the European Parliament, sentenced by a final court judgment in December 2023. Although his name on parliamentary websites was included in the “former MPs of the current term” column with the annotation “loss of the right to be elected”, but his seat was not filled. Therefore, now, with the election to the European Parliament, Wąsik can enter the Sejm Wioletta Kulpa.
