Today, the Sejm will resume its sessions. The MPs will discuss, among other things, the resolution establishing a commission of inquiry into the visa scandal. The first government meeting will also be held on Tuesday, the main topic of which will be the budget law.
On Tuesday at On the 14th, MPs will consider a resolution establishing an investigative committee into the visa scandal. The debate will include 10-minute statements on behalf of the clubs and a 5-minute statement on behalf of the group.
Last Tuesday, the Sejm Legislative Committee gave a positive opinion on the parliamentary draft resolution regarding the establishment of an Investigative Committee into the so-called visa scandal with amendments.
A positive opinion was received on the amendment that changes the time scope of the activities to be investigated by the Investigative Committee. According to the amendment, it will cover the period from November 12, 2019 to November 20, 2023.
The first meeting of the government
New ministers on Monday gathered for a working meeting. On Tuesday, the government will hold its first official meeting, during which it will discuss the draft budget for 2024.
The government’s agenda included, among others: the draft budget act for 2024 together with the draft resolution of the Council of Ministers on the draft budget act for 2024; draft self-amendment to the government draft act on special solutions for the implementation of the Budget Act for 2024, together with a draft self-amendment to the government draft act on special solutions for the implementation of the Budget Act for 2024; draft Strategy for debt management of the public finance sector in 2024–2027 with an update.
According to the Sejm schedule, the first reading of the draft state budget for 2024 is scheduled for the Sejm meeting on Thursday, December 21.
