The barriers that had been separating the Sejm for seven years were removed on the night from Monday to Tuesday. On Monday, during the inaugural session of the Sejm, they were dismantled by a group of people who gathered in front of the parliament. The barriers were considered one of the symbols of the rule of Law and Justice.
The barriers appeared in front of the Sejm on December 16, 2016. Politicians of the opposition at that time emphasized that this was separating politicians from society.
On the night from Monday to Tuesday, the barriers were taken away from the Sejm.

On Monday, a group of people who gathered in front of the Sejm decided to dismantle them. Recordings of the dismantling appeared, among others, on the website X (formerly Twitter) of Obywatele RP.
Order from the marshal
On Monday, the newly appointed speaker of the chamber appeared in the Sejm Szymon Hołownia he announced that the barriers that had previously surrounded the Sejm should “disappear” and that he had held talks on this matter with Agnieszka Kaczmarska, head of the Sejm Chancellery and commander of the Marshal’s Guard.
– I ordered the Commander of the Marshal’s Guard to prepare an appropriate letter. This letter will soon be sent to the Warsaw Police. We expect that tonight the barriers surrounding the Sejm will disappear from under the Sejm, although they have already been unlocked and dismantled by the police – said Hołownia.
