Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, blasted the Department of Justice Wednesday on “Fox & Friends” for steering the FBI to crack down on alleged harassment of school officers by mother and father, calling the transfer a harmful authorities overreach into native elected actions.

SEN. JONI ERNST: I do not suppose we’re overreacting to this. I believe that the Justice Division is overreacting to this. I believe that it’s crucial that oldsters are concerned of their college boards. And positively, in the event that they disagree with what’s being taught on the college, that’s precisely why you could have college board conferences. That is precisely why these mother and father must be on the market expressing displeasure or help for what is going on on of their faculties. That is an overreach of the FBI and the federal authorities, and it’s harmful.

We as conservatives need mother and father to be concerned within the training of their kids. However you have heard from many Democrats recently that they do not suppose mother and father must be concerned within the training of youngsters. And that’s abhorrent. That is not the best way our system was designed to work. So once more, it is a harmful overreach by the federal authorities into native elected actions. These college board members are elected by their native folks, and people native folks have each proper to return out and categorical, like I mentioned, displeasure or help for the actions in their very own native college.
