A resident of Serock parked his car in front of the block. When he tried to leave less than an hour later, the car was gone. He thought the car had been stolen, but after a few minutes the police found out what had happened, said Commissioner Justyna Stopińska, spokeswoman for the Legion Police.

The policewoman described that on Saturday before noon, the duty officer of the Serock police station received a report that a car had been stolen from the estate car park. She assured that the policemen immediately went to the scene of the incident, and the information about the stolen car was also sent to all crews serving in the Legionowo poviat.

“He didn’t secure the car”

– After arriving at the scene and talking to the reporting person, officers began to search the nearby area in search of the vehicle. Only a few minutes after the report, uniforms revealed the vehicle. As it turned out, the driver did not properly secure the car, as a result of which it rolled off the parking space and after driving about 200 meters fell into a deep ditch overgrown with bushes, Commissioner Stopińska described.

She added that the help of a tugboat was needed on the spot, “with which the passenger vehicle was pulled out of the bushes. Fortunately, there were no injured people.”

– Let us remember to make sure when getting out of the car that the vehicle has been properly secured and does not hinder the movement of other drivers and pedestrians, and above all, does not pose a threat to their health and life – appealed Stopińska.
