The driver carrying a 3-year-old child was speeding in a built-up area at 148 kilometers per hour, exceeding the speed limit by almost 100 kilometers per hour. The incident took place in Seroki, between Żuromin and Sierpc (Mazowieckie). According to the local police, the man lost his driving license and must pay a fine of PLN 2.5 thousand.

Spokesman of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Żuromin asp. Tomasz Łopiński reported that the driver of a Volkswagen passenger car was driving in a built-up area in the town of Seroki (Lutocin commune) at a speed of 148 kilometers per hour, despite the fact that there is a speed limit of fifty.

“Apparently they’re confusing a county road with a highway”

The presence of traffic policemen in Seroki was not accidental. – A few days ago, via the National Safety Threat Map, we received a report from the inhabitants of this town that some drivers apparently confuse the poviat road with the motorway and drive there at excessive speed – said the spokesman.

He lost his driving license and was fined

For the offense committed, the driver was fined PLN 2.5 thousand and 15 penalty points. The spokesman noted that these were not the first penalty points on the driver’s account; he already had 11 of them for other traffic offences.

The police suspended the 27-year-old driver’s license for three months. – Due to the exceeded number of penalty points, after three months, the 27-year-old will again have to undergo a state exam that will verify his knowledge of traffic rules and driving skills – summed up the policeman.
