Seven detained in Turkey for allegedly promoting info to Israel’s Mossad

ISTANBUL — Turkish police arrested seven individuals on Friday on suspicion of promoting info to the Israeli intelligence service Mossad, the state-run Anadolu information company stated.

The suspects, who allegedly handed particulars to Mossad through personal detectives, had been detained in a joint operation with Turkey’s Nationwide Intelligence Group, or MIT.

Performing on warrants issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Workplace, police anti-terror and intelligence department officers carried out raids in Istanbul and the west coast metropolis of Izmir, Anadolu reported.

Two different suspects within the investigation are thought to have been detained earlier.

Final month, 34 individuals had been detained by Turkish police on suspicion of spying for Israel. They had been accused of planning to hold out actions that included reconnaissance and “pursuing, assaulting and kidnapping” international nationals dwelling in Turkey.
