Today we celebrate the 233rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution on May 3. Law and Justice presented its candidates for the European Parliament at the convention in Kielce. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, flies to Washington for a three-day visit. Here are seven things to know on Friday, May 3.

1. Celebration of the 233rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution on May 3

Today, the presidential couple Andrzej Duda and Agata Kornhauser-Duda will take part in the celebration of the 233rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution on May 3. At 11 a.m., the president will award state decorations during a ceremony at the Royal Castle. At 12 noon there will be a ceremony at Castle Square with the participation of, among others, Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia. The president's speech is planned.

2. PiS presented “locomotives” to the European Parliament

Law and Justice presented its candidates for the European Parliament at the convention in Kielce. The event was not attended by the former president of Orlen, Daniel Obajtek, and the former president of TVP, Jacek Kurski.

During the event, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński emphasized that the European elections are also about us being free people. – So that nothing is imposed on us, so that the law is obeyed, so that the constitution is not fiction, so that other regulations and laws are not fiction, because today they are fiction. And we must remember that these elections concern this too, added the PiS president.

3. Krasnodębski about the “terminated contract” with PiS

Zdzisław Krasnodębski, a PiS MEP for 10 years, this time was not on the party's list of candidates in the European Parliament elections.

“We are currently terminating the contract,” he wrote. He added that in such a situation he would be able to “freely formulate his opinions about the team's performance” in which he had been in for a decade and “about good and bad decisions.”

4. Sikorski flies to the USA

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, will pay a visit to Washington on May 3-5. Bilateral meetings with representatives of the American administration and analytical centers are planned during the visit.

The topics of discussion during the visit to Washington – as we read in the press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – will include Polish-American cooperation, including in the area of ​​security, Russia's aggression against Ukraine and preparations for this year's NATO summit in Washington.

5. Türkiye stopped trade with Israel

Turkey stopped trade with Israel on Thursday, Bloomberg reported, citing information from government circles in Turkey.

It was reported that all exports and imports were suspended. Israel Katz, the head of Israeli diplomacy, referring to Recep Tayyip Erdogan's decision, said that “this is the behavior of a dictator who disregards the interests of the Turkish people.”

6. Wisła triumphs in the Polish Cup
