What is “Sex and the City” about?

“Sex and the City” is the story of four New York City neighbors: a hit PR specialist (Kim Cattrall), a sarcastic lawyer (Nixon), an art gallery romantic (Davis) and an emotional writer (Parker). The last of these collects the gossip exchanged between friends and writes them down in the weekly column of the newspaper “New York Star”. She is the narrator throughout the series. CNN calls Sex and the City a production that “harshly comments on sex and relationships” as well as “positively portraying the power of female friendships.”

The first season of Sex and the City premiered in June 1998. Over the next six years, five more parts of the HBO production, based on the best-selling book of the same title, hit the TV screens. On the wave of success of the series, its two film sequels were created: “Sex and the City” (2008) and “Sex and the City 2” (2010). The continuation of the series is “And just like that”, a series that appeared on HBO Max in 2021. Its second season is scheduled to premiere in June this year.
