Journey to rescue. A mother of three children, a nurse, was told that she had melanoma and there was nothing that could be done about it. Unless in Israel. The social collection helped. The patient already has money for a flight to the hospital and tests, but more is needed.
A suitcase full of clothes and Mrs. Justyna full of faith. – I hope that it will all work out and that the disease will reverse – says Justyna Wachulak, who suffers from melanoma.
The woman is on her way to Israel for melanoma treatment. Mrs. Justyna has been undergoing treatment for four years. Initially, a dangerous birthmark appeared on the back of the head. In Poland, the possibilities of rescue have been exhausted.
– We heard the diagnosis that these drugs no longer work, that this is the end. This thought was difficult. Very much – says Emilia Wachulak, Mrs. Justyna's daughter.
The help came in an avalanche
Mrs. Justyna spent her entire life helping other seriously ill people, working in the intensive care unit as a nurse. She is the mother of three children. – They need that mother. I am a mother myself and I cannot imagine how I would leave them, if I could abandon them. Let's help her – appeals Bożena Bober.
The help came in an avalanche. Mrs. Justyna has a whole army of good people around her. They organized collections, picnics and concerts. Everything to raise the necessary money for treatment in Israel.
– We organized sweet Sundays. Strangers baked us about 600 kilograms of cake – says Piotr Wachulak, Mrs. Justyna's brother.
It was in early October. More than half of the money was collected so that Mrs. Justyna could fly to Israel and pay for the first consultations and tests.
– Later, if successful, the lesion will be removed and material will be collected for reproduction in the laboratory – says Justyna Wachulak. And this will cost thousands more. The collection is still ongoing.
Mrs. Justyna does not have to worry about accommodation in the first days, because after the last material on TVN24, the mother of a Polish woman living in Tel Aviv decided to take action and put her in touch with her daughter.
– I don't even know what this lady looks like, I asked my mother to give me Mrs. Justyna's phone number so that we could somehow find each other at the airport – says Magdalena SzymaÅ„ska, a Pole living in Israel.
Mrs. Justyna has experienced the pain of suffering and uncertainty in recent years. Now he also experiences good things from complete strangers. – It turned out that the hospital is very close to me, seven minutes from my house, and I will help with all my heart – says Magdalena SzymaÅ„ska.
– Such help from strangers, not only my relatives, gives me a lot of strength. Just not to give up – sums up Justyna Wachulak.
