She had strawberries, watermelon, onions and peppers in her basket, but she only stuffed cabbage for the self-service checkout in the shop on Przy Agorze Street. The difference between the value of the goods in the basket and the amount paid was not large. It amounted to PLN 25.30. However, the woman is threatened with severe punishment, up to five years imprisonment.

The districts from Bielany were called in to intervene in the shop at Przy Agorze Street. A security guard was waiting on the spot. He indicated a woman who – according to him – committed the theft of groceries for the amount of PLN 38.12.

“This self-checkout customer was filling a completely different product than the one she had in the basket. After collecting all the material, it turned out that the woman did this four times in the last week. The 29-year-old was filling cabbage instead of strawberries, watermelon, onions and peppers. Always. Always. Cabbage was the substitute The difference between the purchased goods and the amount paid was PLN 25.30 – the Warsaw police said in a press release.

Police officers from the department for combating economic crime charged the woman with fraud. The 29-year-old will now be responsible for introducing other values ​​and types of purchased goods into the scanning device in order to gain financial benefits. This crime is punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment.

The activities in the above case are supervised by the District Prosecutor’s Office for Warszawa Żoliborz.
