A 44-year-old woman in the Greek city of Tripolis on the Peloponnese was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of 1,000 euros. The woman started fires to observe firefighters and flirt with them, the Greek Reporter website reported on Wednesday.
The woman was arrested on Monday in connection with deliberately setting fires on August 24 and 25. The fire brigade's suspicions were raised by the fact that she was at the scene of the fire the first and second time. As a result of her actions, two fires broke out on agricultural land. The fire did not cause much damage thanks to the firefighters' quick response.
The arsonist was sentenced to 36 months in prison and a fine of 1,000 euros.
The Greek woman started fires because she “enjoyed watching firefighters and flirting with them,” the Greek Reporter reported. Skai TV reported that the 44-year-old dreamed of meeting a man wearing a uniform.
