Shelley Duvall Dies: Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining' Star Was 75

Shelley Duvall – the star of the movie “The Shining” – is dead. She died in her sleep, she had been battling diabetes for years – informed her life partner Dan Gilroy. Shelley Duvall was 75 years old.

Duvall died at her home in Blanco, Texas, said Gilroy, who had been with her since 1989.

“My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend has left us. Too much suffering lately – now she is free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley,” Gilroy said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

Shelley Duvall made history in cinema with her incredible role in Stanley Kubrick's horror film “The Shining”. The 1980 film, in which she starred alongside Jack Nicholson, is considered by many film critics to be one of the best, if not the best in the history of cinema.
