A drunk 56-year-old tried to convince a policeman from Ostrołęka to refrain from intervening. The man had two per mille of alcohol in his blood and was driving a car. He has already heard the charges.
Last Sunday, police officers from the Independent Police Prevention Unit in Ostrołęka They went on the order of the officer on duty from Siedlce to Ujrzanów. There, according to the report, a drunk man was driving a Chevrolet. They noticed the indicated vehicle and stopped it for inspection. They smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
He could barely stand on his feet
– The man spoke incoherently and had problems with maintaining balance. While waiting for a Siedlce traffic patrol, the 56-year-old told one of the police officers that he would get five thousand złoty if he were released. The police officer informed the man that he was committing a crime. The Siedlce resident repeated the bribe offer several more times. The man was driving with over two per mille of alcohol in his system – indicated Ewelina Radomyska, press officer for the Siedlce police.
The policewoman concluded that the man was detained and has already been charged with drunk driving and attempting to give a bribe, for which he faces up to 10 years in prison. He also lost the vehicle he was driving.
