Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski is cutting short his visit to the United States due to an urgent meeting of the Council of Ministers regarding the flood situation. The head of the MFA was to meet with the Polish community in Michigan on Friday and Saturday and visit the headquarters of the company producing Abrams tanks.
As Katarzyna Rybka-Iwańska, spokeswoman for the Polish Embassy in Washington, confirmed to PAP, the reason for shortening the minister's visit to USA An urgent meeting of the Council of Ministers has been convened to discuss the budget in the context of the flood situation.

Sikorski cuts US visit short
According to the original plans, Sikorski was to meet with representatives of the Polish community in the suburbs of Detroit in Michigan, one of the most important states for the presidential election results. The minister said that he intended to encourage Americans of Polish origin to vote for candidates who support NATO. He also planned to visit the headquarters of General Dynamics Land Systems, the manufacturer of Abrams tanks.
Despite the shortened visit, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs still plans to meet with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday Chin Wang Yi in New York on the sidelines of the meeting UN.
