New retention reservoir in Bielsko County: – In the coming weeks, we are planning talks with local governments to jointly develop a consensus regarding the location of this investment – said Marek Wójcik, Voivode of Silesia, in an interview with portalsamorzadowy.pl. Local authorities also plan to raise flood embankments and construction of small retention systems to increase the safety of residents and limit possible damage during future floods.

Flood damage: This year's flood in the Silesian Voivodeship caused serious damage to municipal infrastructure. The Silesian Voivode reported that the losses were estimated at approx PLN 500 million. However, the amount may increase further as more protocols are received from municipalities and counties. The provincial commission is still verifying the reported damage.

When will the reconstruction of the damage start? First works related to the reconstruction of municipal property after the last flood are to start this year. Currently, priority tasks are being verified in order to release funds for reconstruction as soon as possible. Most projects are supposed to be implemented in 2025. and continued in subsequent years.

Removing the effects of floods: Water Polish have completed 109 priority tasks related to removing the effects of floods, a 133 others are in progress. Intervention works are concentrated especially in the Kłodzko poviat (Lower Silesian Voivodeship), where the value of the works currently being carried out exceeds PLN 45 million. Additionally, thanks to the amount PLN 82 million Water Polish will intensify flood prevention activities on the Biała Głuchołaska and Biała Lądecka rivers.
