Tragic end to search in Chechło-Nakło reservoir in Silesian Voivodeship. After four hours, divers recovered the body of a 67-year-old woman who drowned on Friday afternoon.
The spokesman for the District Police Headquarters in Tarnowskie Góry, junior asp. Kamil Kubica, said that the woman's body was found before 6 p.m. The prosecutor, who will supervise further activities, will decide whether to conduct an autopsy.
The search operation lasted about four hours from the moment the services received a report that the 67-year-old woman had disappeared under water. Several fire brigades worked on the scene, including a specialist water and diving rescue group from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bytom.
Firefighters remind that when planning a holiday by the water, we should choose prepared and guarded bathing areas, where a lifeguard watches over the safety of holidaymakers.
The Silesian police also appealed for caution around water. “This element can surprise even people who can swim perfectly. An unknown place, heat, weakness of the body, alcohol – these are the factors that increase the risk of drowning,” it was emphasized.
