This story could have had a tragic ending. At a railway crossing in Prostki (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), a passenger car collided with a train. The 28-year-old driver was unharmed. It turned out that he had close to the permille of alcohol in his body.
Everything happened today after 8 a.m. in Prostki in the Ełk district, where a 28-year-old driver of a Hyundai passenger car collided with an Ełk-Białystok train at an unguarded railway crossing.
“The driver was driving alone and was under the influence of alcohol. The test showed that his blood alcohol content was close to the permille” – we read in a statement on the website of the Warmian-Masurian Police.
There were 90 people on the train
There were about 90 people traveling on the train. Nobody needed medical attention.
“The driver will now be held responsible for causing a collision and driving under the influence of alcohol. He may face a penalty of up to 3 years in prison,” the statement reads.
