1. Storms in Poland

Storms passed over Poland on Wednesday. By 9 p.m., firefighters responded more than 1,200 times, mainly due to flooding and damage caused by strong winds.

The situation was particularly dangerous in Upper Silesia, where storms tore off roofs and broke high-voltage pylons.

2. Obajtek appeared at the prosecutor's office

Former president of Orlen Daniel Obajtek, who won a mandate to the European Parliament on behalf of PiS, appeared at the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw on Wednesday and was questioned as a witness, said Piotr Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. – Very interesting documents have been received and are still being analyzed – he added.

National prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk said in “Tak jest” that Obajtek was questioned as a witness, but “his character may change.” – This will be decided by the prosecutor-referent after collecting complete documentation – he added.

3. PiS has a majority, but cannot elect the voivodeship marshal

For the second time, Małopolska councilors did not elect a new voivodeship marshal. The candidate was PiS MP Łukasz Kmita, a former voivode. – There was a betrayal of the ideals of Law and Justice – he commented.

Law and Justice has 21 councilors in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship assembly, and the opposition – 18. During Wednesday's secret vote, Kmita's candidacy was supported by 17 councilors, 19 were against. Two councilors cast invalid votes. The PiS candidate needed 20 votes to become marshal.

4. Actor Bartłomiej M. convicted of rape

The District Court in Warsaw issued a verdict in the case of the actor and former TV presenter, Radio Zet reported. Bartłomiej M. was sentenced to 5 years in prison for raping a 16-year-old girl. The judgment is final.

Bartłomiej M. will also be responsible in another trial in which other young women are injured.

5. Prosecutor's office about soldiers detained at the border

The prosecutor's office revoked some of the preventive measures against two soldiers who were charged with exceeding their powers after shots were fired near Dubicze Cerkiewne (Podlasie) on the border with Belarus.

– Supervisor supervision and a ban on soldiers contacting each other are still in place. At the current stage of the proceedings, the reference prosecutor decided that the use of such measures would be sufficient. However, the charges are still the same, notes prosecutor Skiba.

6. The risk of a great exodus of millionaires
