In Włodzimirów in Wielkopolska, the owners of an agritourism farm found almost all of their reindeer torn apart by animals. The police are investigating. Among the main suspects are feral dogs and wolves.

At the beginning of May, in an agritourism farm called the Norwegian village of Arendel in Włodzimierzów near Słupca, six reindeer were torn apart by animals. Only one survived. Among others, females expecting young died.

The report was confirmed by the police. – The District Police Headquarters in Słupca is investigating the case. We are waiting for the results of the expert tests. They will be crucial – says junior inspector Andrzej Borowiak from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Poznań. He adds that the research was commissioned by the animal owner himself.

The experts took animal hair for testing and examined the nature of the wounds inflicted on the animals. “We want to be sure if they were dogs or wolves that were also seen in the area,” explains the policeman. If it turned out that they were dogs, it will also be necessary to determine whether they were feral animals or owned by someone. – Only then can we talk about bringing charges against the owner of the dogs – emphasizes junior insp.
