Skawina. A drunk driver cut off another car, then fell into a ditch

Almost 2.5 per mille of alcohol in the body had a 34-year-old who ended a drunken rally in a roadside ditch in Skawina near Krakow on the night of Saturday to Sunday. Earlier, the man blocked the way of another driver. Now he will answer in court.

The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday (April 22). On Korabnicka Street in Skawina near Krakow (Lesser Poland Voivodeship), a Daewoo driver first cut off another driver and then drove off into a roadside ditch.

Police: The driver was drunk

A witness to the incident alerted the authorities. He also said the driver was probably intoxicated.

– We received a report that the driver of a Daewoo drove directly in front of another vehicle, causing a threat to land traffic. However, there was no collision. A moment later, the car fell off the road and drove into a roadside ditch, Commissioner Justyna Fil, spokeswoman for the District Police Headquarters in Krakow, told us.

When the officers arrived, it turned out that the 34-year-old driver of the Daewoo was completely drunk. The breathalyser test showed a result of 2.3 per mille of alcohol.

– A man, a resident of Skawina, went to a room for detained persons. After sobering up, he will hear allegations – informed Fil.

Driving under the influence of alcohol is punishable by up to two years in prison. In this case, the man will also be responsible for the offense of causing a threat to land traffic, which is punishable by a fine. The man may also be disqualified from driving.
