The police captured the alleged perpetrators of the robbery at the petrol station in Skierniewice (Łódź Province). A 20-year-old man was arrested for three months, and a 24-year-old woman who allegedly assisted in the robbery was also charged.

After about two weeks of searching, the police detained two residents of Skierniewice, who on June 7 were supposed to carry out a robbery at a petrol station together with the use of weapons.

– On that day, around 11 pm, just before closing time, a man entered the building of the gas station in Skierniewice. He had a hood on, a mask on his face, and in his hand he held what looked like a handgun. He approached the station employee and, aiming at her, demanded money. The woman gave him the entire amount that was in the cash register. The man took the loot and disappeared in the nearby bushes – reported the event on Sunday, Chief Commissioner Magdalena Studniarek from the Skierniewice police station.

Caught after two weeks

Surveillance recorded the entire incident. The police meticulously analyzed every trace secured on the spot, camera footage and testimonies of witnesses, thanks to which after about two weeks they identified the perpetrator. He was a 20-year-old resident of Skierniewice, who – as it turned out – did not act alone, because he was helped by a 24-year-old woman.

The perpetrators were detained in their places of residence. Both faced prosecution charges. Against the man, the court decided to pre-trial detention for 3 months. Armed robbery is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
