During a routine inspection of a bus carrying children, a suspension airbag blew up – informs the Provincial Road Traffic Inspectorate in Gorzów Wielkopolski. The school trip – from Szczecin to Wałbrzych – had to be continued with a replacement vehicle.
The incident took place on Tuesday, June 13, on the S3 expressway near Skwierzyna (Lubuskie Voivodeship). According to the inspectors of the Road Transport Inspection from Gorzów Wielkopolski, a bus carrying children was inspected on the spot. Primary school students were going on a trip from Szczecin to Wałbrzych.
Before entering the specialist checkpoint, the driver lifted the vehicle’s suspension for safe inspection.
“While the driver was lowering the suspension, after the technical inspection, one of the suspension airbags exploded” – informs the Provincial Road Transport Inspectorate in Gorzów Wielkopolski.
The children left on another bus
Due to damage to the suspension element of the coach, the inspector withheld the vehicle registration document. The driver could not continue the journey with the faulty bus, so the carrier was forced to organize a replacement bus for the children.
