Sławomir Sierakowski. Collection for military ambulances for Ukraine

Publicist Sławomir Sierakowski together with the American historian Timothy Snyder organized a collection for military ambulances for Ukraine defending against Russia. “Time to react!” – they emphasized in the description of the collection in social media, referring to the suspension of American assistance for Ukraine. Although the goal was to collect PLN 1.2 million, over 1.6 million were collected on Tuesday evening. “Since it goes so well, we can't stop!” – wrote Sierakowski.

We can't watch it passively, how two powers get along above the heads of the brave, but lonely nation. We remember it too well from Polish history. That's why we go back to the game!” – we read in the description of the collection organized by journalist Sławomir Sierakowski.

“Let's show Trump together, on which side one should stand in this war. And the Ukrainians are not alone at all,” wrote Sierakowski,

Ambulance collection. “We can't stop!”

The organizers of the collection asked the Ukrainian side, which the soldiers need the most. “The answer is chilling and even more motivating to act: military ambulances” – we read.

The cost of one such ambulance is 300 thousand. dollars, i.e. approximately PLN 1.2 million – that was the purpose of the collection. However, over PLN 1.6 million, until Tuesday, until 10pm. All funds will be transferred to the account of the Ministry of Health Ukrainewhich will make a purchase.

“I don't believe it myself! But We collected PLN 1,200,000 overnighti.e. over $ 300,000 for one military ambulance to evacuate wounded! We will save a lot of lives! You will save! Since it goes so well, we can't stop! Only the day has passed! And besides, everyone should have the opportunity to join us and help us! ” – wrote Sierakowski on Tuesday evening.

Sierakowski: This is the most urgent need today, we know it from Ukrainians

– We see what is happening in Ukraine. Trump cut off help. Losses in Ukraine begin to grow dramatically, so we decided with Timothy Snyder, a great historian, friend of Poland and Ukraine, start collecting for military ambulances – said Sierakowski about the collection.

He explained that “this is the most urgent need today.” – We know it from Ukrainians. It is also a gesture of support for them. After all, we could be in a similar situation – he added.

– But it is also a signal for the United States that we are not indifferent here. We want to show Americans, those Americans from Trump on which side you should stand. For now, it looks like they wanted to stand on the side Russia. We will show that you should stand on the side of Ukraine – he emphasized.

In the summer of 2022, Sławomir Sierakowski initiated the collection of funds for the Bayraktar TB2 military drone for Ukraine. The Turkish manufacturer then donated the machine without collecting money from the collection. The funds were transferred to, among others Vehicles for the Ukrainian army, the needs of families living in areas particularly at risk of military operations and directly to the account of the armed forces of Ukraine.

In an interview with TVN24 on Tuesday, Sierakowski said that “a silent majority, which – as it turns out – is all the time ethical, moral, has a heart on the right side, she said.” “It is not that suddenly Poland has become a Ukrainian -ceptive somehow,” he said.

Snyder: Ukraine needs our help more than ever

“People are constantly asking me what they can do for Ukrainians and especially for soldiers on the front, for people who risk for us. I have a good answer: let's get military ambulances to ensure their safety and to give them a signal that we think about them and wish them well” – emphasized Timothy Snyder.
