On the provincial road 673 in Słomianka in the Sokółka poviat (Podlaskie Voivodship) there was a car accident in which two adults and two children, aged 9 and 15, died. The information was provided by the Podlasie police.
The accident happened late Saturday afternoon. – Around 5 p.m. we received a report about, as it later turned out, a tragic road accident in the Sokółka district on the provincial road 673, exactly in the area of Słomianka – Deputy Commissioner Marcin Gawryluk from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Białystok told TVN24.
He didn’t give way
He explained that according to the preliminary findings of the police officers, the 63-year-old Audi driver did not give way to the Lexus driver, which resulted in a collision between the vehicles.
The driver of the Audi and a 59-year-old passenger died at the scene. A 9-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, who was also traveling in the Audi, also died on the spot. She was still being resuscitated, but this resuscitation was unsuccessful, the policeman said.
He added that the 14-year-old passenger of the Audi and the driver of the Lexus were taken to the hospital.
Firefighters said the car overturned and fell into a ditch. Six fire engines were at the scene.
