Slovak mountain rescuers have finished their search a tourist from Poland who has been missing for over two weeks. The body of a 39-year-old man was found in the massif of Ĺomnica, the second highest peak Tatra Mountains (2634 m n.p.m.).

The man's disappearance was reported to the Slovak police by his worried family. They said that he had gone to a solo climb into the Slovak part of the Tatraswhere he planned to conquer several peaks included in the so-called Crown of the High Tatras. Contact with him was lost on August 12.
Mountain rescuers are constantly appealing for caution in tourism and proper preparation. According to data TOPRin 2022 in the Polish Tatra Mountains there were injured over 1000 peopleand there were 19 fatalities. In 2023, 19 people died in these mountains 18 people, of which 12 fell from a height. The same data shows that there were twice as many men as women among the victims.
