In Prešov, Slovakia, a truck ran under an oncoming train, which was carrying about 40 passengers. Two people, including the conductor, were injured, police said. The 69-year-old truck driver was not injured.
The incident took place on Thursday at a railway crossing on Kosicka Street in Prešov. “A train going from Prešov to Košice hit the trailer of a truck crossing the crossing,” the Slovak police said, quoted by the “Sadeczanin” portal.

The driver did not notice the traffic light
The entire incident was seen by the driver of a passenger car from the opposite lane. The man got out of the vehicle and, waving, tried to stop the truck from entering the tracks. This one didn’t stop. Moments later, a speeding train crashed into her semi-trailer. The incident was recorded by a surveillance camera.
The lorry driver claims that he did not notice the traffic lights and only saw the train when he started honking at it. “The breath tests for alcohol on the train conductor and the truck driver were negative. According to preliminary information, the train conductor was injured,” the police said.
Due to the accident, the railway line between Prešov and Košice had to be closed for several hours. A replacement bus took the train passengers. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
