A 20-year-old man will spend the next two months in custody, who was escaping from the police in his BMW in Słubice (Lubuskie Voivodeship). The man did not even mind that at some point he lost one of the tires, and the car – apart from him – was also driven by a young woman with a baby.
On August 10, police officers from the Słubice traffic police patrolled the streets of the city when they noticed a BMW driven by a man they knew. They knew he shouldn’t be driving because he had a disqualification from driving.
– Using light and sound signals, they ordered him to stop the vehicle. However, the driver did not intend to follow the instructions and meet the police. He made a daring escape through the streets of Słubice, trying to avoid the responsibility that threatened him, reports senior aspirant Ewa Murmyło from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Słubice.

The man was driving through the city streets at excessive speed, overtaking vehicles by crossing solid lines, pedestrian crossings, forcing vehicles coming from the opposite direction to brake sharply, almost causing a collision, crossing restricted areas, not complying with traffic lights, crossing with impetuosity for pedestrians, not paying attention to whether anyone is on it.
– While rushing, he did not pay attention to the fact that pieces of plastic parts were breaking off from under his vehicle, and a tire fell off the left wheel – Murmyło reports.
Finally, on Obozowa Street, the 20-year-old made a mistake, lost control of the car, and it stopped. Then the police arrested him.
– Everything lasted only a few minutes, but, as the policemen say, these were the longest minutes they have recently experienced in the service – emphasizes Murmyło.
