Environmental protection inspectors found that cars withdrawn from use in Germany were illegally placed on one of the plots in the Słupsk district. Those responsible for the practice face high financial penalties and imprisonment.

– Inspectors of the Department for Combating Environmental Crime of the Delegation in Słupsk, as a result of previously carried out operational and reconnaissance activities, determined that waste in the form of vehicles withdrawn from explantation from the area may be illegally transported to the area of ​​the Słupsk district. German – informed the Provincial Inspectorate of Environmental Protection in Gdańsk.

Up to a million zlotys fine

The inspectors’ suspicions were confirmed by activities carried out together with officers of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Słupsk. This practice, in accordance with the Penal Code, is punishable by imprisonment from two to 12 years.

Additionally, recipients of waste imported illegally without reporting may be subject to a fine ranging from PLN 10,000 to one million. Another, equally high fine may be imposed on them for processing waste without a permit.

The matter is developing

As indicated by the Gdańsk Inspectorate of Environmental Protection, based on the findings, inspectors have initiated and are carrying out inspection activities also against another entity related to the case.
