The Government Security Center announced an alert for the Grudziądz district in connection with the poor air quality forecast for Tuesday. The services recommend refraining from spending time outdoors.
“ATTENTION! On November 5, poor air quality in terms of PM10 suspended dust (SMOG) is forecast. Refrain from outdoor activities” – an SMS with this content was sent to recipients in the Grudziądz poviat (voivodeship Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship).
Suspended dust is a mixture of solid particles and liquid droplets that remain in the air. These particles may contain, for example: sulfur and nitrogen compounds, organic compounds (including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons), heavy metals, dioxins and allergens (such as plant pollen and fungal spores). PM10 dust contains particles with a diameter not exceeding 10 micrometers.
In the case of polluted air, the Government Center for Security advises:
- give up walks in the fresh air;
- give up playing sports outdoors;
- limit airing of rooms.
