Smuggling “for passenger transport”. The police warns drivers against fraudsters

Police Headquarters, Ministry of the Interior and administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warn against the growing procedure of fraud using the “driver” method or “on passenger transport services” in the border countries Schengen zones in the south of Europe.

According to the police, “scammers are looking for, through social media, people ready to perform the work of a driver, providing passenger transport services in countries on the Schengen zone border.”

– These proposals contain seemingly favorable conditions of cooperation: guaranteed orders for long courses and very high rates for passenger – police report.

In fact, recruited people often participate in the activities of organized criminal groups dealing with the smuggling of illegal migrants to the European Union through the so -called Balkan trail. Most often, the proposals relate to transport from Croatia and Sloveniabut also with Hungarian, Romania and Bulgaria to another EU state.

The uniforms sensitize that participation in this type of crime is punishable by a prison sentence for many years, including a long waiting for a sentence in temporary detention without the possibility of returning to the country.
