In the Karkonosze Mountains, at an altitude of more than 1000 meters above sea level, snow has fallen. It turned white on the trails. “You have to get used to the fact that winter has arrived” – wrote Reporter 24, who captured the winter scenery in the pictures.

Snow fell in the Karkonosze Mountains, it turned white. Winter has come to the mountains. Pictures of snow-covered trees and trails were sent to Kontakt 24 by Grzegorz Truchanowicz, a guide from the Sudetes. “Saturday’s trip to the sunrise surprised me a bit. In the Karkonosze Valley we still have autumn, but in the mountains, at an altitude of over 1000 meters above sea level, tourists will see a significant amount of snow” – he wrote.

Giant Mountains. Icy trails

The Sudeten guide added that you should be careful on the trails, especially in the early morning, because they are heavily icy.

“Raczki is an indispensable element of mountain hikers’ equipment. Despite the fact that it was foggy, cold and windy, the rising sun for a few minutes made the view from the Śnieżne Kotły in the Karkonosze Mountains very magical and unique. You have to get used to the fact that winter has already come to the Karkonosze” – described the Truchanowicz expedition.

The first toboggan run of the season

The Karkonosze National Park has made available on its Facebook profile the recording of the first toboggan run. “We do not usually recommend sledging down the trails, but here, on the road from the Renaissance, we record the first descent in the season 2021/2022. An employee of one of the shelters came and sent a video. There was no traffic on the road, not too much snow, the descent was good. Of course, we do not encourage sledding or sledding on crowded trails or, for example, from the top of Śnieżka “- they wrote.
