Wet and slippery trails, in places old and hard snow
According to the services of the Tatra National Park, “intense rainfall has made the trails wet and slippery, and there is mud in the forest sections. In the ridge and peak parts, the low level of clouds reduces visibility and makes orientation in the field difficult, which may cause confusion” .
Monday’s announcement also announced that on the northern side in some parts of the higher parts of the High Tatras there are patches of old and hard snow. Toprowcy remind that in such conditions you need to be especially careful, moving around requires experience and where to use winter equipment, such as crampons, ice ax and helmets.
According to the forecasts of the synoptics weather in the Tatras is expected to improve significantly on Wednesday. The temperature in Zakopane is to rise above 20 degrees Celsius, and the sun will shine in the mountains.
