On Tuesday, there was another incident in the Śnieżka area. A young Czech woman slipped down the “gutter of death”. Polish and Czech rescuers took part in the rescue operation.

On Tuesday afternoon, the rescue services received information about a young Czech woman who slipped off the so-called a gutter of death towards Kocioł Łomniczki – reports the website novinky.cz. The 18-year-old woman was part of a group of six people.

Mountain rescuers and ground crews immediately went to the scene of the accident, and a Czech rescue helicopter and GOPR Karkonosze were also called. Due to difficult conditions, the helicopter had to return to base. Strong winds blow in the area of ​​Śnieżka, which exposes ice-covered surfaces.

According to novinky.cz, rescuers found the woman safe and sound. He added that the tourist belonged to a group of several people who set off on a closed anniversary route. Horská služba wrote on its Facebook profile that the tourist, together with another group, continued hiking towards Karpacz.

– The others were unable to get out of the icy area, so they called for help – explained Marek Fryš, spokesman for the Czech service.
