Sobibór. Two people died in a two-vehicle collision

Two men, aged 65 and 74, died in a head-on collision between two passenger cars in Sobibór (Lubelskie Voivodeship). The police, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are investigating the circumstances of the tragic accident.

The incident took place on Friday around 5 p.m. on the provincial road No. 812 between Włodawa and Chełm.

– The police officers sent to the scene determined that a 58-year-old resident of Lublin drove the Mercedes into the left lane and led to a head-on collision with a properly driving Renault vehicle. The vehicle was driven by a 74-year-old man and the passenger was a 65-year-old man. Unfortunately, both of them died, said Chief Commissioner Andrzej Fijołek, spokesman for the Provincial Police Commander in Lublin.

The uniformed officer reported that both dead men were residents of Włodawa.

As reported on Facebook by the Poviat PSP Headquarters in Włodawa, there was a front-side collision of two cars. “The force of the impact was so great that the VW Touran car, which was located on the side of the road, was also damaged” – added.

The police, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are clarifying the details of the incident.
